Living in a world where access to information is basically universally available at the tip of one's fingers, it is an eerie feeling to watch how the institutions and norms of the (self-proclaimed) "foremost western democracy" are falling apart day by day.
There was a time in history class where I just couldn't grasp how Germany could fall apart and transform for the worse so fast. Even though the population had nowhere near the amount of access to information or even tools to organize as societies do now. Looking around the world and especially the US, I now wonder how it didn't happen more often.
Are you surprised that the same administration that refer to as "aliens", talk about building "camps" to hold them, and celebrate sending people to torture in El Salvador would deport U.S. Citizens?
Or maybe that the "think of the children" party are sending away children?
